Vice President for College Advancement

Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas, is currently accepting applications for the position of Vi! ce President for College Advancement to begin August 1, 2013 or before.

The Vice President for College Advancement is the chief development officer for Bethel College, a member of the President’s Cabinet and reports directly to the President. The VPCA has primary responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of the College’s comprehensive advancement program. The VPCA provides staff support to the Advancement Advocacy Committee and the Directors Committee of the Bethel College Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate for Vice President for College Advancement will be self-motivated, organized and have experience working with capital campaigns, major gifts, estate planning, annual fund solicitation, donor research, alumni relations, and corporate and foundation relations. He or she must have a demonstrated ability to lead a dynamic staff and work closely with major donors, business leaders and members of the Board of Directors. He or she must be a ! team leader who implements the strategic initiatives in fund r! aising that will further strengthen the College’s position in higher education. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also required. Candidates must sympathize with and advocate for the mission of Bethel College.

Bethel College is a private, liberal arts, undergraduate college affiliated with the Mennonite Church USA and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Majors and concentrations include traditional liberal arts and science fields, pre-professional and accredited professional programs which include nursing, athletic training, social work, and teacher education. The student body of 500 students is approximately seventy-seven percent residential and traditional-age students.
