We currently have an opening for the Stroke Center Registrar.

Responsibilities

The Stroke Center Registrar is responsible for the accurate and timely collection, review, analysis, entry, coding, maintenance and reporting of clinical data for The University of Kansas Hospital Stroke Program. Responsible for maintaining compliance with National and Kansas State regulations regarding all databases used within the Stroke Center. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of data services. Must provide accurate assessment of ICD-9 coding for stroke. Produces reports for the ! Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program, Nat! ional and State requested data submission and institutional research.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s in Heath Information or related health care area.
2. Minimum of one year experience as a Stroke Registrar or related are preferred
3. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology required. Proficient with Word, Excel, and Access required. Must have strong computer skills. Advanced knowledge of ICD-9 coding preferred. Experience working with large databases preferred.
