Position Description:
The Labor & Delivery RN utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. He/she provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. He/she integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families through the continuum of care. The RN collaborates with others to integrate assessment and input of ! the patient, family and the interdisciplinary team. He/she ens! ures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision-making and problem solving. The RN integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:Education:
2 Year / Associate Degree - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred

Experience:
1 - 3 Years preferred

Knowledge, Skills:
Verbal Communication, Organizational, Assessment, Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize, Customer Relations and Critical Thinking/Reasoning skills re! quired

License, Registration and/or Certification (if applicable):
Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the state of Kansas Upon Hire
Healthcare Provider CPR â€" (American Heart Association ONLY) Upon Hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 180 Days
STABLE: blood Sugar, Temperature, Artificial breathing, Lab work, Emotional support (for primary nursery RN’s only) and every five years thereafter within 180 Days
