Description: The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is hiring Certified Medication Aide (CMA) right now, this occupation will be placed in Kansas. CMA - part time, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm every Saturday & SundayCMA - part time, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am every Saturday CMA - PRN, all shiftsCedar Lake ! Village (a Good Samaritan Society center) is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization providing a full continuum of care for older adults. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team.EEOEThis position is responsible to perform the following according to Good Samaritan mission, center/campus standards, procedures and individualized care plans.Medication Administration: Provides the right medication to the right person at the right time in the right dose and by the right route ensuring all changes in medication are responded to in a timely manner. Stores medications correctly, cleans and locks med cart or other storage system. Follows center/campus policy for missed medications, accidentally dropped or spit out by the resident, and medication errors. Follows procedures for documentation, including narcotics sign out. Follows up with observation and documentation of resident response to medication received.Safety: Responds appropriately to emergency nee! ds in the center (choking, falls, convulsions, disaster, fire,! etc.). Applies and monitors mobility and alarms. Demonstrates safe use of oxygen, lifts and all other equipment.Professional Certification/Licensure/Standards: Maintains current CNA and CMA certification in Kansas. Performs other related duties as assigned
Following are the minimum requirements to be hired into this job: Knowledge: basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered. Must be knowledgeable of Federal Guidelines regarding medication administration. Medication administration must be accurate and completed within the allotted time frame. Documentation required for administration of routine and prn medication must be completed by the end of each shift. Prior Experience: work experience as a Certified Medication Aide is preferredBasic Abilities: ability to meet the physical and mental abilities of the job as o! utlined. Must be able to speak, read and write in English and be able to articulate clearly and audibly. Ability to meet conditions of employment applicable to the center/campus.
