Detailed specification about this career opportunity please read the description below. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is a full-time member of the nursing team. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Coordinator (CC) will manage all aspects of clinical and pre! ceptorship experiences for students as determined by the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities include: Designing and coordinating student rotations with clinical and preceptorship experiences and assisting clinical coordinators for programs with the design, implementation, and evaluation of the clinical experiences. This includes providing for affiliation agreements with health care organizations and systems that meet state regulatory, agency, and college requirements. The CC contributes to the well-being of the nursing programs and assists with student enrollment growth and faculty involvement.

The CC will assign clinical facilities to students, maintain physical paperwork and be an advocate of the college̢۪s philosophy and policies both inside and outside of the classroom/clinical site. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for maintaining in his or her department the academic standards and quality levels expected by our faculty, students, acc! rediting agencies and community. These academic standards and ! quality levels require consistent planning, implementing and reporting. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Key Job Elements

Perform administrative and instructional duties as outlined in the position description and in accordance with the provisions of Nursing Faculty Handbook and Brown Mackie College Employee Handbook.

Design, implement, and coordinate student clinical experience placements with clinical partners within a 100-mile radius of the campus and meet on-going needs of the program. Assist with the development and continuous review of student rotations within clinical and preceptorshi! p experiences.

Obtain and maintain school affiliation agreements

Conduct periodic on-site evaluations of clinical sites and preceptors to insure instructional quality is maintained and clinical objectives are met.

Ensure that clinical and preceptor experiences meet the requirements of applicable local, state, and national professional and accrediting bodies.

Prepare accreditation reports pertaining to clinical experiences of students as required.

Plan and implement methodologies to evaluate program and course curriculum as they relate to clinical and preceptorship experiences.

Assist with the student admissions process that includes the recruitment, application, screening, and selection of applicants for admission to the graduate nursing programs.

Collect and maintain complete and accurate student and institutional files, including infomation on liability insurance, clinical affiliation agreements, preceptorship! agreements, health records, and background checks. Assist in implement! ing and maintaining an effective electronic student documentation system that meets the needs of the nursing curriculum and professional discipline.

Plan and implement methodologies to evaluate student performance in clinical rotations and preceptorship experiences.

Coordinates day-to-day management and administration of clinical and academic operations with the Director of Nursing.

Assist as needed with faculty orientation to clinical facilities.

Maintain MOKAN, collaborating with Lead Instructor and Director the dates and times for clinicals throughout the year.

Teaching as needed, and as schedule allows, in the clinical setting according to expertise.

Assist with students̢۪ lab check-offs as needed.

Perform other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Nursing, with collaborative input from the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Job Requirements

Knowledge:
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college of university required.

Possess and maintain active, unencumbered Kansas and Missouri registered nurse licenses.

Have at least two years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, with five (5) years or more preferred.

Have at least one (1) year of full-time college or university teaching experience or relative experience is preferred.

Have academic preparation and experientially qualifie! d in the areas of responsibility for the nursing program.

Be able to analyze and interpret accreditation criteria, state agency regulations and nursing practice organization standards as they relate to student learning opportunities.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Have strong interpersonal skills with student and staff populations.

Demonstrate organizational, prioritization and self-motivation skills.

Demonstrate proficiency with the use of standard business productivity, computer database management and Internet applications on personal commuters.

Abilities:

Have the ability to read, interpret and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.

Have the ability to resolve inquiries ! and complaints from students, faculty, regulatory agencies, clinical partners, and/or public groups.
