Description: Picis Inc is employing Utilization Management Nurse, Positions available in both Overland Park and Wichita, KS (Day shift- & NO weekends) (391995) right now, this vacancy will be placed in Kansas. Selected candidates will work at one or more hospital sites each day within

the respective territories below:
3 positions are located in

Overland Park, KS

2 positions are located in

Wichita, KS

Work Schedule: Mon- Fri 8:00 am - 5:00pm & No weekends

Responsibilities include:

• Performs utilization and concurrent review using Milliman criteria
• Conducts clinical chart assessments
• Discusses cases with treating physicians and other healthcare professionals to better understand plans-of-care
• Identifies and evaluate delays in care
• Initiates a discharge planning and readmission prevention plan when applicable
• Approves bed days for inpatient cases when applicable
• Arranges alternative care services; Contact and maintain communication with acute long term care, acute rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facilities to move patients through the care continuum
• Gathers clinical information to assess and expedite care needs
• Maintains appropriate documentation
• Consults with the Medical Director as needed to troubleshoot difficult or complex cases
• Participates in telephonic and in-person staff meetings

Qualifications

Requirements include:

• A current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Kansas
• 3 years of clinical experience in an inpatient/acute setting
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation to work within the required geographic territory

Basic level of experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer, with the ability to navigate a Windows environment

Preferred Assets

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred
• Experience in acute long term care, acute rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facilities is desired
• Experience in discharge planning and/or chart review is desired
• A background that involves utilization review for an insurance company or in a managed care environment is desired
• Familiarity with Milliman criteria guidelines would be helpful
• Case management certification and/or experience is preferred
• Ability to build and maintain relationships will be essential
