Instructor or Asst. Professor of Marketing

Location: Hays Kansas

Description: Fort Hays State University is presently looking of Instructor or Asst. Professor of Marketing right now, this occupation will be placed in Kansas. Terminally qualified applicants are eligible for t! enure. Instructional expectations are to teach four three-hour courses per semester (12 credit hours per semester). Instruction is at the undergraduate and graduate level, and relate to program requirements in Marketing. Some courses may need to be developed and delivered using the Internet, video and/or other interactive technologies. In addition, candidates are required to be engaged in scholarly activities, and to render service to the profession, the university, and College of Business & Entrepreneurship (COBE). Normal evaluation is based on teaching (60%), research (20%) and service (20%). Minor modifications to salary and workload are negotiable under special circumstances, for this position stationed at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate has earned a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing or a related field. D.B.A. faculty candidates should have completed research-based doctoral studies and have an established track ! record of research, to be considered terminally qualified. Doc! toral ABD faculty candidates should have expectations to finish dissertation work within three years of ABD status, and must have demonstrated research potential. M.B.A. or M.S. faculty candidates should have significant levels and duration of work experience in Marketing. A record of successful teaching is desirable. Faculty candidates who are academically qualified under traditional AACSB guidelines will receive strongest consideration. Professionally qualified candidates also will be considered. Successful candidates will have consented-to and successfully completed a criminal background check.

Salary and Benefits: Salary is competitive for educational qualifications at a state comprehensive university. Benefits include medical, life, and contributory TIAA-CREF or similar retirement systems.

The Department: The Department of Management and Marketing has 15 full-time faculty members with approximately 850 upper-level students enrolled. Functional business degrees in Management, Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Corporate Communication, and Training & Development are included in the Department.

The College: The College of Business & Entrepreneurship is seeking accreditation from EQUIS and AACSB, and offers programs through the MBA level. Business degree programs include the MBA and undergraduate majors in Management, Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Business Education, Information Systems Administration, Finance, and International Business & Economics.
