More complete informations about this job opportunity kindly read the description below. ~CERTIFIED PCT TRANSONIC TECHNICIAN~Wichita, KansasGENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Under clinical direction of a Registered Nurse, this position operates a transonic machine in a chronic hemodialysis facility, monitoring End-Stage Renal Dialysis (ESRD) patient blood flow per Transonic Device procedure and per physician orders from nephrologists and Vascular Access Center. Position creates transonic study report for the vascular access specialists and coordinators. The Transonic machine measures access blood flow per minute and allows the technician to monitor any changes that may result in stenosis and/or recirculation.Note: If the PCT - Transonic Technician is also working in direct patient care, technician must meet all qualifications of the Patient Care Technician.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.? Set up transonic machine and ensure all lines associated with access during treatment and connections from the dialysis machine and the transonic machine are correctly established? Monitor ESRD patient's vascular access during treatment and record the blood flow in the accesso Monitor any changes that may result in stenosis and/or recirculation and notify RN of those changes immediately? Create transonic study reports for the vascular access specialists or coordinators and report to vascular access teamo Attend Quality Improvement meetings to report results as requested? Understand operating procedures of the transonic machine and all related company procedures and policies; act promptly to notify appropriate authority if machine is not functioning properly? Maintain annual competency and skills per checklistTravel required up to 3 nights within the region.?? Know, understand and maintain all safety/quality standards by consistent observance to DaVita and local/state/federal regulatory policies and procedures? Know and comply with DaVita policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations for patient care and services (CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, or other governing agencies)? Know and comply with state or federal regulations of the Teammate Health and Safety Training Programs? Know facility emergency plans and demonstrate ability to act appropriately in an emergency? Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:o Work overtime with little or no notice as neededo Attend team meetings, phone conferences, in-services, and other training as neededo Read, know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and facility or company procedures? Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position? Travel required: up to 10%MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required) ? High school diploma or equivalent required? Minimum of 1 year's experience in chronic hemodialysis as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) requiredo Demonstrated understanding of vascular accesses required? Valid driver's license in the state of employment required and insurable driving record required; reliable transportation required? Dialysis Technician Certification by a state certification program or a national commercially available certification program required per these guidelines:o Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire if employed after April 15, 2008o If employed prior to April 15, 2008, must obtain national certification by April 15, 2010Completion of DaVita training program approved by the medical director and governing body required prior to functioning independently in this role requiredPhlebotomy certification preferred; demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture required? Current CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 60 days of employment)? Meet all applicable state requirements for education, training, credentialing, competency, standards of practice, certification, and licensure in the State in which employed as a dialysis technician (AKA: patient care technician) required?
