Position Summary:
Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in the CVL specializing in the care of patients undergoing diagnostic heart caths, PTCA, stent placement, IABP placement and radiologic special procedure exams. Provides care to patients, pre-, during, and post- procedure.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Scrubs, circulates, monitors and recovers patients for interventional cardiac procedures/treatments.
• Provides quality patient care through interactions with others and properly utilizes resources. Exam explanation and post procedure instructions provided to patient.
• Demonstrates competency in operation and usage of all equipment and supplies in department.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing policy. Maintains accurate patient and department records.
• Follows radiation safety, infection control and universal precautions policies.
• Performs tasks efficiently and uses time effectively when patient volume is low; willingly accepts task assignments and schedule changes as needed.
• Assists with training of new employees and students. Participation in cross-training and team performance is absolute.
• Functions as a member of on-call team as assigned. Responds to call-backs in a professional manner and is available within the required time (STATS 30 minutes)
• Protects patient confidentiality. Respects and promotes patient's rights.
• Interacts and communicates effectively with co-workers, medical staff, and other departments and management. Attends department meetings and reads minutes of all meetings not attended.
