The Hospital Sales Specialist (HSS) will be responsible for the successful launch, sales volume and share growth of this new product line to reach its short and long-term potential as well as representing and promoting BD as a leader in the drug delivery category and marketplace.
The HSS will be responsible for covering a large territory and will focus on the most productive and influential hospital and surgicenter customers and centers of influence within the territory. The Specialist should have in place an extensive base of close relationships with hospital pharmacy decision makers in the given territory and should be skilled at extending that network to new customers.
Candidates need to be motivated, results-oriented and have a high degree of technical expertise in hospital pharmaceutical products. They should have exceptional selling skills and outstanding skills in the areas of communication, organization, decision making and tactical execution. Must demonstrate collaboration, relationship building and customer service competencies.
Excellence in required skills: Interpersonal communication, organization & prioritization, presentation skills, decision making, tactical execution & computer literacy.
Requirements:
· Bachelors degree, in business or the sciences required; MBA a plus
· Minimum of 7 years successful hospital pharmaceutical sales experience
· At least 4 years excellent track record of sales growth and exceeding objectives within the hospital setting in a given territory or area with established relationships (Hospital Pharmacy and Nursing as Key Target Audiences)
· Previous experience with specialty or injectable drugs is highly preferred
· Organized, motivated and with strong communications skills
· Must be able and willing to travel extensively
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong analytical and computer skills
