Staff Nurse PRN I - Ambulatory Surgery Services

Location: Leavenworth Kansas

This practice includes direct care activities as well as acts of delegation, coordination, and collaboration, and encompasses all aspects of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).

The registered nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing care that their patients receive and for the conformity of that care to nationally, regionally, and locally accepted standards of care and best practice.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Licensure, Certification and Experience Required.

Education & Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Associate degree in nursing.

A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of a minimum of two years of college level training in nursing.

One year experience ! as a registered nurse in a hospital or ambulatory surgical set! ting

within the last 18 months

Licensure/Certification:
Current RN license by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association.

Special Skills/Aptitudes

:

Basic computer skills.

Assessment & judgment skills necessary to

assess

a patient’s condition and to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing comprehensive care to

patients and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions.

Exceptional customer

service

skills to meet and, whenever possible, exceed patient & family needs

and expectations

.

Exceptional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in nursing. 18 months of full-time e! xperience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical setting within the previous 24 months. Specialty certification in area of practice.
